Home Energy Scotland Grant & Loan Scheme
Here at Pro Rend Scotland we understand that not everyone can afford to do the things that need doing in this current climate. So we took it upon ourselves to source and find funding for External Wall Insulation that can hopefully help you cover the cost of our Insulation options and give you that warmer home with lower energy bills.
For energy efficiency measures
For Energy Efficiency Measures such as insulation, (EWI) External Wall Insulation grant funding is available up to 75% of the combined cost of measures up to a maximum grant amount of £7,500. An additional £7,500 of funding is available as an optional interest free loan.
An uplift of £1,500 is available for rural and island homes to both the clean heating and energy efficiency grants, meaning rural households can claim up to £18,000 in grant funding.
Who can apply?
Are you a homeowner? Great news - if you live in the home you own, then you can apply. Visit the Home Energy Scotland contact us webpage to find out how to get in touch.
Building your own home? You can use the grant and loan for home renewables systems or energy storage systems; other improvements aren't available if it's a self-build.
Landlord, business or a property developer? Sorry - you can’t apply. But we do offer a range of other funding opportunities like the Scottish Government's Private Rented Sector Landlord Loan.

Remember, the Home Energy Scotland Grant and Loan is only available for properties in Scotland.
What you need to do
You must contact Home Energy Scotland personally to get impartial advice about your home, which will help decide the best options for you. Third parties - for example, installers or letting agents - are not allowed to apply for you.
Once you've spoken to an advisor and you're ready to proceed, they'll send you a personalised link to complete an online application form. You can only apply for funding using the application form provided to you by Home Energy Scotland.
Before you apply
- you cannot carry out the work before you have a loan offer in writing
- you need quotes from installers to complete the application process (you can start the application process and add these later)
- you need to use certain approved installers
